A competition occurs

Well, I'm entering this mini game competition on the Game Maker Games Forum. I'm not sure how well I'll do, but the game that I am entering is called "Sleepy Head".
And I've decided that this game will begin my venture into learning Game Maker "to the core". You may have noticed that my games are not of the highest quality when it comes to my way of codes and graphics and... well, yeah, I won't say anymore. So I'm going to learn all there is to know about the Boolean things, Arrays, The power of Variables, and all that other stuff I don't know much about yet.

Oh! About the game I'm making! It's a platformer for one thing... my favourites :). The story is that a Nuke is heading to your planet in the middle of the night, and you must make your way to the escape shuttle before it hits! Along the way, the citizens of your planet need help too. So doing good deeds, you support them while trying to keep up the pace. I haven't gotten super far, but I do have a lot of sprites down, have coded a few "Citizen Tasks", and have a nice physics engine and such.
Here are some of the screens:

Welcome, all comments are welcome as long as they aren't stupid, or vulgar. :D
